About
Artist’s Statement:
I’m an artist working primarily in oil, charcoal, and pen. My work is rooted in observation—of people, places, and the quiet moments that often go unnoticed. I paint landscapes, portraits, and still lifes drawn from life, memory, and film. Whether it’s a city skyline, a self-portrait, or a hillside at dusk, I’m interested in how light moves through space, and how mood and place intertwine.
Much of my work explores the balance between the built environment and nature. I’m drawn to the edges—where polished architecture gives way to cloud patterns, where wind bends grass between concrete paths, or where the reflection of a sunset turns glass into something momentary and fragile. My gaze often lands on these in-between moments, where the city frames nature, and something softer emerges through structure.
Green spaces in urban environments feel especially important to me. They offer restoration and relief, but also a sense of openness in places that can otherwise feel overwhelming. These spaces—transitional, layered, quietly alive—reflect something I often feel in myself.
Alongside more developed works, I keep a steady sketching practice—on sticky notes, in notebooks, during travel, or in passing moments. These sketches and prints are not afterthoughts. They’re how I stay present, process what I see, and trace the rhythm of daily life.
Thanks for spending time with my work.
